Each year Rebecca accepts a small selection of portrait commissions.
These can be in oil paint, charcoal or graphite.
The graphite or charcoal drawing process takes c. 3 days per single portrait from start to finish. However, this usually spans a week or so to allow time for feedback.
The oil painting process is a much more drawn-out and labour-intensive process. It includes 7 or 8 layers of paint and a protective varnish. Drying time is needed between each layer, and then a longer final drying time to make sure everything is set before varnishing and packing it for postage/ delivery. So, I would expect the whole process to take between 4 weeks and 3 months (depending on the complexity, size and thickness of the paint).
Please be aware that portrait commission slots are reserved several months in advance.
Rebecca works between London and Bath, whilst her main studio is in Bath
